Create an unlock link

Terms of service

Using Keyway means agreeing to these. They are deliberately short.

1. What Keyway is

Keyway is a free service that lets anyone create a page which asks visitors to complete steps before revealing a URL. It is provided by Keyway, an independent product with no affiliation to SubtoUnlock, Sub2Unlock, or any platform named on this site.

There are no accounts. Creating a link gives you a management key; whoever holds that key controls the link. Keep it private.

2. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the destination you point a link at and for the steps you attach to it. You must not use Keyway to:

  • Distribute malware, or anything designed to damage or gain unauthorised access to a device
  • Phish for credentials, payment details or personal information
  • Impersonate another person, brand or service
  • Share content you do not have the right to share
  • Distribute content that is illegal where you or your visitors are
  • Show adult content without a clear warning in the title or description
  • Harass, threaten or endanger anyone
  • Automate link creation, or evade the rate limits

The full list, with worked examples, is in theacceptable use policy, which forms part of these terms.

3. Platform rules apply to you too

Keyway is built so the compliant use is the only available one: social steps are visits, and nothing in the interface claims to verify a subscription or follow. You are still responsible for your own compliance with YouTube, Discord, Telegram, X, Instagram, TikTok and any other platform you link to — including their rules against incentivised engagement.

Do not describe a Keyway step in a way that implies a subscription is required or verified. It is not, we do not claim it is, and you should not either.

4. Moderation and removal

Every unlock page carries a report button. Reports are read by a person. Report volume alone never removes a link — if it did, anyone could silence a competitor by organising enough reports.

We may disable a link when, in our judgement, it breaks these terms. When we do:

  • Visitors see a safety notice. They are not forwarded anywhere.
  • The action and its reason are written to an audit trail.
  • You can appeal by writing to abuse@subtounlock.app with the slug. We read appeals and we do reverse mistakes.

We may act without notice where a link is actively harming people — malware and credential phishing being the obvious cases.

5. Availability and the free service

Keyway is free and provided as-is. We aim for high availability and it runs on infrastructure designed for it, but we do not offer an SLA, and we do not guarantee that a link will work forever.

Practical consequences worth planning for: keep your own copy of anything you gate; do not use a Keyway link as the only route to something important; and save your management key, because we hold only a hash of it and genuinely cannot recover it.

We may change or discontinue the service. If we ever shut it down we will give as much notice as circumstances allow.

6. Liability

Keyway does not host, review or endorse the content behind a link. A link created by someone else is that person's responsibility, not ours.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Keyway is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, and total liability is limited to the amount you paid us — which, for a free service, is nothing.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Intellectual property, changes and contact

You keep all rights to your content. You grant us only the permission needed to operate the service: to store your link and show it to visitors.

The Keyway name, mark and site content are ours. Other names on this site belong to their owners and are used for identification only.

We may update these terms. Material changes get a new date at the top and a note about what changed. Continuing to use Keyway after a change means accepting it.
